Collen Storms, 83, of Hopewell Twp., died Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at his home following two years of declining health. Born in Gloucester City to the late William Storms and Sarah Earley Storms, he was the husband of Rowena Link Storms. He had lived at his present address for the past 13 years and prior to that had resided in Newfield. Before his retired, Collen had worked for CBS records in Pitman for many years. He had been active with several Mummers String Bands in Philadelphia since 1947. He was a member of Bridgeton First Wesleyan Church in Upper Deerfield Twp. where he and his wife gave music lessons to children free of charge. They also established the children's diabetic club at the church. Collen was in charge of the "Best Years Fellowship Club" at the church. In addition, he formerly served as an officer with the group, "Parents Without Partners." In addition to his wife Rowena, he is survived by two sons, Collen Storms, Jr. of Philadelphia and Brian Storms and his wife Sue of Franklinville; a step-son, Robert Albina; a step-daughter, Desiree Albina; two grandsons; Brian, Jr. and Michael Storms; three step-granddaughters; Jessica, Clarissa and Kaitlyn and a brother, Robert Storms of Williamstown. He was preceded in death by two brothers, William and Charles Storms and a sister, Rhoda Hoffman. Memorial Services will be held at Bridgeton First Wesleyan Church, 200 West Laurel Heights Drive, Upper Deerfield Twp. on Saturday, July 13th at 10 AM. Arrangements are under the direction of the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, Upper Deerfield Twp. In lieu of flowers the family asks that contributions in Collen's memory be made either to the Bridgeton First Wesleyan Church or to the Cumberland County SPCA, 1244 North Delsea Dr., Vineland, NJ 08360.
