Lula Gay Uttley, 78, of Vineland died on Monday, July 1, 2013 at the Eagleview Center in Pittsgrove Twp. following several years of declining health. Born on December 10, 1934 in Lumberfort, WV to the late Robert Starkey and Hannah Moody Starkey she was the wife of Gerald Uttley. She had lived at her present address since 2003 and prior to that she had resided in Bridgeton and West Virginia. Before her retirement, Lula had been employed at the Cumberland Manor in Hopewell Twp for a period of ten years. She had also been employed with the former ValMode Lingerie Co. and Owens-Illinois Glass Co. in Bridgeton. Lula had been a member of the former Laurel Hill United Methodist Church in Bridgeton. Mrs. Uttley's family would like to express a special thanks to the west wing staff of Eagleview Center for their care. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Nanette King of Upper Deerfield Twp.; a granddaughter, Tinishia Pickering of Pennsville; a great-granddaughter, Destini Virgillo of Upper Deerfield Twp and a sister, Martha Pauley of Charleston, W.V. She was preceded in death by 14 brothers and sisters. Funeral Services will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Twp., on Friday evening, July 5th at 7 PM. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 6 PM to 7 PM prior to the services. Interment will take place Monday, July 8th at 2 PM Laurel Lawn Cemetery in Upper Deerfield Twp.
