Obituary of Richard C. Shafer

Richard C. Shafer, 58, of Elmer, died Wednesday, June 19, 2013 following a month of illness at Inspira Healthcare-Elmer. Born in Elmer on April 17, 1955 he was the son of Richard C. Shafer and Violet Fleming Shafer of Elmer. He had been a Pittsgrove Twp. resident for most of his life. Richard had worked for Harris Terminals in Camden as a mechanic. He was an avid hunter and fisherman who enjoyed following the Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies. He also enjoyed watching Sci-Fi movies. Besides his parents, he is survived by two sons, Michael Shafer and his companion Nicki Sbaffoni of Sicklerville and Chris Fotch of Newfield; a daughter, Candice Pagano and her husband Geno of FL; a sister, Lucille Mancini and her husband Ray of Pittsgrove Twp; a nephew, Scott Kelly of Pittsgrove and three grandchildren; Chris, Sarah and Zach. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Kandice Shafer and a brother, Maurice Shafer. Funeral services will be held at Maranatha Baptist Church, 1524 Bridgeton-Millville Pike, Millville on Tuesday June, 25th at 11 AM.
