Albert DeAngelis, 76, of Pittsgrove Twp., died at his home on Sunday evening, June 9, 2013 following a lengthy illness. Born on February 19, 1937 in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Peter DeAngelis and Minnie Viotta DeAngelis. He had been a resident of Pittsgrove Twp. most of his life. Albert had been employed as an auto service technician at F.C. Adams Ford and Mercury in Elmer for 25 years. He was a member of the National Street Rod Association and was an avid stock car enthusiast who raced in the 1970's at Bridgeport Speedway, East Windsor and U.S. 13 tracks. Surviving are his former wife and the mother of his children, Alice Mader of Pittsgrove; a son Albert "Muggs" DeAngelis, Jr. and his companion Nancy Shustock of Pittsgrove Twp.; a daughter, Charlene DeAngelis and her companion Shane Smith of Pittsgrove Twp.; two sisters, Gloria Burke of Pittsgrove Twp. and Anne Teuber of Vineland; two brothers, Peter DeAngelis of TN and Joseph DeAngelis of Pittsgrove and his best friend, his cat Arty. He was predeceased by four brothers, Louis, Henry, Charles, and Bernard DeAngelis and a sister, Laura Langley. Funeral Services will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Twp. on Friday, June 14th at 11 AM. Interment will take place at Olivet Cemetery in Pittsgrove Twp. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 10 AM to 11 AM prior to the services. Written condolences may be sent to the family through the funeral home website at www.padgettfuneralhomes.com.
