Obituary of Emma Sophia Moore

Born in Saskatchewan, Canada to the late William deRuyter and Helene Seidel deRuyter, she was the wife of the late Lewis W. Moore. She had lived at her present address for the past 2 year and prior to that had resided in Bridgeton and Fairfield Twp. respectively. Before her retirement in 1997, "Sophie" had worked as the Fairfield Twp. Clerk for 16 and a half years. She also served as the Fairfield Twp. School Board Secretary for 14 years and worked at Clement Papas Co. in Cedarville and Galloway for 28 years. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Bridgeton, where she was Treasurer and served on the Board of Finance. She was also a Women's missionary and a member of the Lutheran League. Surviving are three sons, William Moore of Tasley, VA, Lewis W. Moore, Jr. of Greensboro, NC, and Rex A. Moore of Fairfield Twp.; two daughters, Helen Moore of Millville and Charlotte Moore of Boyertown , PA, 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Robert L. Moore, a brother, Frederick Carl deRuyter and a grandson, L. "Winn" Moore. Funeral Services will be held at the PADGETT FUENRAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Twp., on Tuesday, April 16th at 10 AM. Interment will take place at Fernwood Memorial Park in Hopewell Twp. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 9 AM to 10 AM prior to the services. At the family's request donations may be made in Mrs. Moore's memory to Life Choice Hospice, 200 Campbell Drive, Suite106, Willingboro, NJ 08046 or the Alzheimer's Association, South Jersey Chapter, 3 Eves Drive, Suite 310, Marlton, NJ 08053.
