Sandra P. Omrod, age 68, of Franklinville and formerly of Millville died Saturday, October 29, 2011 at the South Jersey Health Care Hospice Care unit in Bridgeton following a six year period of declining health.
She was born in Camden, on March 29, 1943 to the late Edwin Thomas and Edna Simpkins Thomas. She had lived in Franklinville for the past 17 years and before that had resided in Millville.
Sandra had been employed in the healthcare industry as a Certified Nurses Assistant at private residences. She was a member of the First Wesleyan Church in Upper Deerfield Township where she served as a Sunday school teacher. She had also served as a missionary in Guadalajara, Mexico. She enjoyed crafts, counseling with children and youth activities at the Tuscarora Camp in PA.
Surviving are two sons, David Omrod (Elizabeth) of Franklinville and Brian Omrod (Linda) of Millville; two sisters, Terry Cento of Millville and Lynn Worrell of Millersburg, PA; a brother, Edwin C. Thomas, Jr. of Franklinville, eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at First Wesleyan Church, 200 West Laurel Heights Drive, Upper Deerfield Township on Thursday, November 3rd at 10:00 AM. Interment will take place at Berlin Cemetery, Berlin. Friends will be received at the church on Thursday morning from 9:00 to 10:00 AM prior to the services.
