Obituary of Alice M. Sedeyn
Please share a memory of Alice to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Alice Sedeyn, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother who left us peacefully at the age of 91 on Friday, January 10th, surrounded by her beloved family. Alice lived 91 beautiful years, though it never seemed long enough to those who loved her. She was the glue that held her family together, a shining light whose love, kindness, and generosity touched everyone who knew her.
Alice was a woman of extraordinary warmth and grace. Those who had the pleasure of meeting her were often greeted with stories of her cherished grandchildren, each one a pride and joy to her. She would lovingly refer to herself as the “photo lady,” capturing countless memories with her camera and creating albums that told the story of her family’s life and love. These albums were treasures, filled with moments to be cherished forever.
Alice was a constant source of love and light, never forgetting anyone. She had a way of making every person around her feel truly special. Whether it was a birthday, anniversary, or holiday, Alice would call, send cards, and gifts, always thinking of others. She made sure friends, family, and even acquaintances from places like Acme, where she worked for 38 years, and the Queen Diner felt like part of her extended family. Her kindness knew no bounds, and she was always there to lend a hand or offer a kind word.
She shared an unbreakable bond with her husband George, to whom she was married for 28 years. Their love was a true partnership, filled with friendship, laughter, and unwavering support. Alice was not only George’s wife but his best friend and constant companion, and their love was the foundation of her family’s strength.
Alice was the most selfless woman, always thinking of others before herself. She looked forward to shopping trips with her daughter Sandy, picking out gifts for her family, and her heart overflowed with love for each of them. Her spirit of giving extended to all who knew her, and she leaves behind a legacy of kindness, joy, and memories that will live on in the hearts of her loved ones.
She is survived by her husband, George; her daughters Carole, Kathy, and Sandy (Bill), Joan, Beverly; her sons George (Trucy), and Tommy (Beth); her grandchildren Terri McCarty (Brian), Pete Ingraldi, Dawn Spickenreuther (Chuck), Donna Makos (Brian), Melanie Lowery (Ryan); and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, each of whom she loved and adored deeply. Her love and memory will live on in their hearts.
Alice was preceded in her journey by those who went before her, including her late husband, Russell L. Gant; her brothers, Herbert Fuchs and Joseph Fuchs; and her grandson, Billy Truxton Jr. Though they are no longer with us, their spirits live on in the memories and love that continue to surround her.
Alice’s passing has left a huge hole in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and everyone whose life she touched. We find comfort knowing that she is now taking care of all the loved ones we have lost, reunited with those who passed before her. Her legacy of love and care for others will remain with us, guiding us as we continue to honor her memory. Alice, we will carry you with us always. You were the heart of our family, and your love will never be forgotten.
