Obituary of Marvin Lee Johnson

Marvin L. Johnson, 77, of Hopewell Twp. passed away at his home on Tuesday, November 26, 2024. Born in Bridgeton to the late Harry L. Johnson and Mary Inez Evans Johnson, he had been the husband of Kathy Piljay Johnson. He had been a Cumberland County resident for most of his life and had lived the last 40 years in Hopewell Twp. He retired from South Woods State Prison as a corrections officer prior to that he had worked at Wheaton Glass and Salem Machine. Marvin served his country proudly as a member of the United States Marine Corps. In his free time, he enjoyed hunting, boating, riding his Harley and building his Panhead motorcycle. He was a founding member of the POWMIA Club where he had been a supportive member and advocate. He was also a member of the NRA and the Quinton Sportsmen's Club Inc. for over 40 years. He is survived by; his wife, Kathy Johnson of Hopewell Twp.; his son, Sean Johnson of Long Pond, PA; grandchildren, Justin Patrick Johnson and Kelsey Rebecca Johnson; siblings, Harry (Debra) Johnson of ME and Edwin (Diane) Johnson of Upper Deerfield Twp.; nieces, Karen and Laurie; and nephews, Kyle, Bradley and Jay. He was predeceased by; his parents, Harry and Mary Inez Johnson. Funeral Services will be held at 12 NOON on Friday, December 6th at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Twp. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 10 AM to 12 NOON prior to the services. Interment with Military Honors will take place at Cumberland County Veterans Cemetery following the services.
