Obituary of Sarah "Sally" A. Williams

Sarah A. “Sally” Williams, 89, of Upper Deerfield Township passed away on Wednesday, October 2, 2024 at Big Oak Health and Rehabilitation in Pittsgrove Township. Born in Bridgeton, she was the wife of James I. Williams and the daughter of the late Lewis Turpin and Helen Cossaboon Turpin. She had been a resident of Upper Deerfield Township since 1961 and had lived in Bridgeton prior to that. Before her retirement, she had been employed with the cafeteria department at Cumberland Regional High School for 15 years. Prior to that Sally had worked at the Owens-Illinois Glass Company in Bridgeton for 10 years. An active member of the West Park United Methodist Church, she had also taught Sunday School for 12 years. She enjoyed game shows on TV, word find puzzles and flower gardening. In addition to her husband, Jim, she is survived by two children, Kelly Holst of Deerfield Township and David Williams of Upper Deerfield Township along with four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her son, Gary Williams and her sister, Jane Gale. Graveside services will be held on Monday, October 7th at 1:30 P.M. at Laurel Lawn Cemetery in Upper Deerfield Township where the interment will follow the services.
