Obituary of James F. Hogan

Please share a memory of James to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
James Francis Hogan, 87, of Cedarville, New Jersey, passed away on Saturday, September 14, 2024. The youngest child of Robert and Cecelia Hogan, he was born on November 21, 1936 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Jim was a loving brother, uncle, friend, and father figure. Deeply loved, he will be sorely missed. A proud US Army veteran, Teamster, Realtor and entrepreneur, Jim spent his well-earned retirement in the company of his dear wife, Maria, and extended family. Jim had a special place in his heart reserved especially for the children of those he loved - particularly his nieces & nephews, their children, and his wife's children & grandchildren. Jim spoke proudly of the special relationship he had with his grandchildren. Whether he was driving them to and from school, attending their sports events or recitals, or heading to the beach, he enjoyed every moment he spent with them and was often heard to say, "As long as the kids are healthy and happy, life is good!" Jim enjoyed working with horses, watching baseball, doing crossword puzzles, playing 'Lexicon' with his niece, and spending time with his family. He was well known for his avid intellect, quick wit, and deep, abiding love for his relatives and friends. In the last years of his life, Jim faced a number of health issues. Through it all, Hermann Ketterer and his children were beside him. Their love and devotion shone through in everything they did with and for him. Jim was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Maria Esposito Hogan; his parents, Cecelia Creedon Hogan and Robert Hogan; his brothers Francis, Robert, and William Hogan, his sister Cecilia Hogan Gessner, and his extended family, Vincent T. Ketterer. He is survived by his brother, Joseph M. Hogan, and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. The family has entrusted Padgett Funeral Home, Bridgeton, New Jersey with the final arrangements. Interment will be private. Written condolences can be sent to the family through the funeral home website, www.padgettfuneralhomes.com. -Lovingly Submittted by the Family.
