Obituary of George Joseph Salomskas Sr.

George J. Salomskas Jr., 73, of Newport, NJ passed away at home on Sunday, September 15, 2024. George was born to the late George J. Salomskas Sr. and Anna Pryplesh and he had been a resident of Newport for the past 22 years. Prior to that, he had lived in Philadelphia, PA where he was born and raised. He was the Owner and Operator of Georges Expert Motor Service (GEMS) in Philadelphia for 27 years. As a child, George was a part of the Boy Scout's of America and later became a scout leader. He was also a member of the Antique Outboard Motor Collectors Inc. (AOMCI). He loved to ride motorcycles and had a vast collection of coins, antique cars, boat motors and trucks. George had a life long infinity of knowledge, loved to stay busy, and most of all enjoyed spending time with his family. He is survived by; his wife, Linda Dobisch; children, George J. Salomskas III (PA), Michael J. Salomskas (Newport) and Kelly O'Donnell (PA); step-children, Frank Dobisch (Gina) of Philadelphia and Greggorry Dobisch (Philadelphia); 10 grandchildren; and extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by; his parents, George and Anna Salomskas; and step-daughter, Jackie Ryan. Funeral services will held at 8 PM on Tuesday, October 1st at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Bridgeton, NJ 08302.
