Harold G. Sheppard, Jr., lovingly known as “Shep” passed away on Sunday, September 22, 2024 at Cooper University Hospital in Camden. Born in Bridgeton to the late Harold G. Sheppard Sr. and Sarah R. Loper Sheppard, he was the husband of Elsie M. Marshall Sheppard. He had been a Cumberland County resident most of his life. Shep had retired as a supervisor from Wheaton Glass Co. in Millville, prior to that he had worked for Owens Illinois in Bridgeton for 30 years. Shep was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps serving his country faithfully during the Cold War. He had many military honors and awards bestowed upon him. His military service was important to him and he was a proud veteran. In his free time, he enjoyed yard work, shopping, camping with his wife, watching sports, especially his favorite team, the Philadelphia EAGLES, spending time with his family and his beloved dog Bear. Shep was a kind and gentle man with a great sense of humor, he loved to make people laugh. He is survived by; his wife, Elsie M. Sheppard; his son Ricky Sheppard (Beth); step-daughter, Tracy Everland; his friend and brother, Ed Johnson; and a sister, Marie; four grandchildren, Ricky Sheppard Jr. (Jill), Courtney Sheppard (Tony), Joshua Sheppard (Kim), and Jennifer Sheppard; three step grandchildren, Devin Pancoast (Ariel), Robert Everland Jr., and Lexie Everland; seven great-grandchildren and his beloved dog Bear. He was preceded in death by; his first wife, Shirley Sheppard; and his siblings, Bobby, Phillip, and Genie. Funeral Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
