Ellawese Robbins, born on March 10, 1924, in Rocky Ford, Georgia, passed away peacefully on August 24, 2024, in Millvile New Jersey. Ellawese dedicated many years of her life to working at Cumberland Manor nursing home, where she cared for others with compassion and dedication. However, her proudest accomplishment was being a loving mother and grandmother. She cherished her family, which includes her children: Johnnie Mae Thomas, Andrew Robbins (Brenda Robbins) Frankie Mae Brown (Jerome Brown, Sr.) , Louise Robbins, Delores Robbins, Willie Robbins, Mary Henderson (Wayne Henderson) and Jeanette Robbins. In her spare time, Ellawese found joy in planting flowers and working in her yard, always eager to create a beautiful space for her loved ones. She loved being surrounded by her grandchildren, sharing laughter and memories. Her favorite meals included fried chicken, greens, and lemon cake, which she often prepared for family gatherings. Ellawese had a deep appreciation for music, often enjoying the soulful sounds of James Brown and B.B. King. Her favorite television show was "Jerry Springer," which brought her much entertainment. Above all, Ellawese treasured her home, viewing it as her favorite place in the world. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends, who will remember her for her warmth, kindness, and unwavering love. She is survived by; six children; 20 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; 17 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by; her parents, Willie and Ella Rea Watkins; her husband; two children; and all eight of her siblings. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 3, 2024 at 11 AM at Bethlehem Revival Temple, 37 South Ave., Bridgeton. Friends will be received at the church from 9 AM to 11 AM prior to the service. Interment will take place at Fernwood Memorial Park, 794 Shiloh Pike, Bridgeton following the service.
