Obituary of Timothy R. Jones Sr.

Our beloved father and grandfather, Timothy R. Jones Sr., known as Tim, 55, of Vineland, NJ unexpectedly passed away on August 12, 2024, at Inspira hospital. He was born on July 10, 1969, in Vineland, NJ to Walter Jones Jr. and Doris Ann Jones. He was a lifelong resident of the area. He graduated from Vineland High School in 1988 where he excelled in football, track & field, and baseball, a legacy he proudly passed down to his sons and grandson. He worked for several years as a card dealer at the casinos. He then switched careers and became a truck driver, working at Kennedy Concrete. You could catch him with his sun hat on and music turned up driving but couldn’t expect him to see you while he was focused on the road. He was an avid fisherman, soon as the weather broke, he’d be out on the bay fishing all day. Football season was the upmost importance in the Jones household. He was a die-hard Cowboys fan in a family full of Eagles fans. Making football Sundays even more interesting with all the jokes that started. He enjoyed spending time with family, especially taking joy in hosting family cookouts where you’d catch him behind the grill singing and dancing to any R&B song playing. He was a dedicated father of 4 but once he became a grandfather the light in his eyes grew 10x brighter. He loved making memories with his grandchildren making sure to share his passions by teaching them how to fish and attending their sporting events. He shared his love for the game of pool with his kids and grand-kids in his basement, starting his grand-kids as soon as they could lift the stick. He leaves to cherish his memories his first wife Lillian and their children Laquisha and Tamarah (Seth), his son Timothy Jr. (Betzy); Grandchildren Tamiyah, Royce, Selena and Mason. Siblings Tina (Vincent) and Andre, Parents Walter and Doris, and Grandmother Geneva. He is preceded in death by his wife Elizabeth; grandparents, John Henry and Helen Boose, Walter Jones Sr, Brother Myron and son Izaiah. Lovingly Submitted, The Family Funeral Services will be held at 11AM on Saturday, August 24th at Shiloh Baptist Church, 1837 NE Blvd., Vineland.
