Obituary of Daniel B. Davison, Sr.

Daniel B. Davison, Sr., 94, of New Castle, DE, passed away on Saturday, August 10, 2024 at Christiana Hospital in DE. Daniel was born to the late Fredrick Davison and Caroline Hoopes Davison in Salem, NJ and was the husband of the late Dorothy M. Davison. He had been a resident of New Castle, DE for the past two years, prior to that he had been a resident of Berlin, NJ since 1976. He had been a truck driver all of his adult life from the age of 19 and he had been employed by PDS in Newfield, NJ until he retired at the age of 83. In his younger years, Daniel enjoyed playing football and baseball with his family. He enjoyed watching and going to Nascar races, spending time with his family and fishing out in the bay. He also enjoyed watching farm shows, train shows and cargo ship documentaries on television and Youtube. He is survived by; three children, Dan Davison, Jr. of DE, Debbie Davison of DE, and Donna (Rob) Dove of GA; four grandchildren, Robbie (Becca) Dove, Caitie Dove (fiancé TJ Kennedy), David Dove, and Daina Dove; one great-grandchild (on the way); one brother, Albert Davison of Clayton, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by; his wife, Dorothy Davison; his parents Fredrick and Caroline Davison; and six siblings. Funeral services will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Hwy 77, Upper Deerfield Twp., on Saturday, August 24th, at 11 AM. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 10 AM to 11 AM prior to the service. Interment will take place at Friendship Finley Methodist Cemetery, 252 Centerton Rd.
