Angel Virginia Downs, 59, of Upper Deerfield, NJ passed away on Wednesday, July 3rd at The Samaritan Center in Voorhees. Angel was born on October 7, 1964 in Bridgeton, NJ to Joan Homan and Melvin Downs. She grew up in Deerfield Township and later moved to Upper Deerfield Township. Angel worked at the Cumberland County Courthouse in Child Support as an Investigator for 34 years. She also was a devoted member of her church, Friendship Finely United Methodist Church in Upper Deerfield Twp. In her spare time, she loved spending time with family, crocheting, sewing, cooking and had many summer vacations with family in Sea Isle City. Once her great nieces and nephew were born, she attended as many of their school activities and sporting events as she possibly could. Angel is survived by; her parents, Joan Homan and Melvin Downs; sister, Victoria Downs; her uncle William Bowe (Carol, predeceased); her cousins, David Downs Jr. (Tiffany) and Lisa Foutz (Michael); her niece, Tiffany Spoltore (David); her great niece’s, Aria Spoltore and Victoria Spoltore; and her great nephew Sean Spoltore. She is predeceased by; her grandparents, Virginia and Melvin Downs Sr.; her uncle David Downs (Mary Jane); her grandparents, William and Elizabeth Bowe; and her aunt Jane Bowe. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, July 10th, at Laurel Lawn Cemetery in Upper Deerfield Twp at 12:30PM. Friends will be received at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 Hwy 77 Upper Deerfield Twp., from 11 AM to 12 PM prior to the service. Interment will take place following the service.
