Grace Elizabeth “Betty” Fox, 83, of Upper Deerfield Twp. passed away at her home under the care of her family, caregivers, and Hospice Care on Thursday, May 30, 2024. Born in Bridgeton to the late Lester Dick and Grace Ney Dick, she had been raised in Fairton but lived in Upper Deerfield Twp. for most of her life. Prior to her retirement, Betty had worked for the Upper Deerfield Twp. School System for 30 years, first as a cafeteria aide and later as a teacher’s aide. She had also worked on the family’s farm, and part-time at Anderson's Country Store during the summer. She was a long time member of Friendship Finley United Methodist Church in Upper Deerfield Twp. She had served many roles there including Sunday School and vacation Bible school teacher. Betty also served as a committee member and council member throughout her many years of service. She was also integral in Friendship Finley's participation in the Agape Food Pantry at Bethany Grace Church in Bridgeton, where they provided food to those in need. One of her proudest accomplishments was graduating from Cumberland County College while also working, and being a mother and grandmother. In her free time, Betty enjoyed spending time with her many friends, family and her adoring dog, Rascal. She also loved children, most of all her grandchildren. She loved spending time at the shore in Ocean City and eating her chocolate & vanilla twist custard at Kohr Brothers. Her family describes her as a generous person with a loving heart and a selfless spirit, making everyone she knew feel special. She will be remembered by all as a sweet, kind, accepting, positive, and loving woman. Even in the end, no matter how bad she was feeling she would keep a warm smile on her face. The family would like to extend a special “thank you” to her loving caregivers and Angelic Care Hospice for their tireless dedication to her care. She is survived by; three children, Debra MacLeod of Millville, Glen “Skip” Fox, Jr. (Kim) of Linwood, and Tracy DiFilippantonio (Mark) of Upper Deerfield Twp.; four grandchildren, Austen MacLeod (Emily), Rebecca Fox (Jason), Julia DiFilippantonio and Bryce DiFilippantonio; her beloved dog, Rascal, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Miriam and Jackie and her brother, Richard. John 16:33 “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” A memorial service will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77 Upper Deerfield Twp on Saturday, June 15th at 1 PM.
