Obituary of Ruby C. Johnson

Born in Orangeburg, SC on March 22, 1931 to the late Richard Moorer and Cora Green Moorer, she was the wife of the late John H. Johnson. She had lived at her present address two months and prior to that had resided in Blackwood, Philadelphia and Vineland. Before her retirement, Ruby had been employed by the Vineland Developmental Center. She is survived by a daughter, Bernice Reid of Philadelphia; three sisters, Williemae Latimore of Vineland, Lorise Haynes and Mary Myer both of Orangeburg, SC; two brothers, Richard Moorer, Jr. of Bridgeton and Levi Moorer of Columbia, SC; five grandchildren, Monique N. Murphy, Reginald Reid, Tamika A. Murphy, Velvet Smith and Anthony E. Johnson and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by five children, Maurice Johnson, John H. Johnson, Jr., Juanita Murphy, Michael M. Johnson and Anthony H. Johnson; a brother, Bobby Moorer; a sister, Helen Glen; a grandson, Eugene Reid and a great-grandson, Anthony H. Johnson, Jr. Funeral Services will be held at Bethel House of God, 1583 Blackwood-Clementon Road, Blackwood, on Thursday, March 21st at 11 AM. Friends will be received at the church from 10 AM to 11 AM prior to the services. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, Upper Deerfield Twp.
