Obituary of Francisco Perez

Francisco Perez, 67, of Bridgeton went to be with the Lord on Monday, May 20, 2024 at his mother's home surrounded by loved ones. Born June 4, 1956 in Caguas, Puerto Rico, to Valeriana Rosa-Perez and the late Graciliano Perez, he had been a Bridgeton resident for 49 years. Francisco received his CDL at the age of 25 and was a self employed truck driver for many years. He loved the freedom of open road traveling so he dedicated the first 10 years of his career to hauling products and produce across the United States for many well known South Jersey companies. After getting married and starting a family he accepted a local driver position at Mays Landing Transportation where he remained until he purchased his first Semi-truck and became the small business owner and operator of F&T Perez Trucking. Years later he traded the Semi-truck for a Dump truck and contracted himself out with South State Inc. where he later retired from. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, playing the guitar, and playing Dominos. He was a self taught mechanic of cars and trucks, and was a phenomenal cook. Francisco was a family man who loved sharing his knowledge about car and truck repair. When he wasn't working on a motor he was in the kitchen preparing authentic Puerto Rican food or creating new recipes that were sure to satisfy anyone's palate. He was extremely proud of his culture, roots, and customs. He was a kind soul willing to help any individual in need without hesitation. He was mostly proud of the accomplishments and success of family members, especially that of his children. He is survived by; his mother, Valeriana Rosa Perez; five children, Walter, Frankie (Ashley), Roberto (Stefhany), Thailynn (Juan), and Emmanuel; siblings, Carmen Castro, Crescencia (Israel), Magdalena, Maria (Jerry), and Carmen (Darrel); and his grandchildren, Yalitza, Yomar, and Jasmine. He was preceded in death by; his father, Graciliano Perez; and his brother, Jose Castro. Funeral Services will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State highway 77, Upper Deerfield Twp. on Friday, May 24th at 1 PM. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 12 NOON to 1 PM prior to the services. Interment will take place at Overlook Cemetery in Bridgeton.
