Jermaine Thomas Johnson, 40, of Port Norris, NJ, departed this life on Thursday, May 9, 2024 at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital. He was born on November 20, 1983, to Deacon William Johnson Sr. and Co-Pastor Carolyn "Everett" Johnson and at Bridgeton Hospital in Bridgeton, NJ. Jermaine graduated from Millville Senior High School and continued his education at Cumberland County College with a major in Criminal Justice. He previously worked at Elwyn as a Group Home Counselor, Inspira Medical Center Vineland as an Operating Room Transporter, and his most recent position at the New Jersey Veterans Memorial Home in Vineland, NJ, in the Dietary Department. Jermaine was a member of the Abundant Life Praise and Worship Center in Vineland, NJ, under the leadership of Bishop Timothy Everett Sr. Aside from spending time with family and friends, Jermaine had a passion for taking vacations, playing video games, collecting sneakers (with about 200 pairs in his collection), and wearing designer clothes and glasses. He loved his jewelry, his car and his car rims. He had a keen sense of style. Jermaine truly believed in living the best life to the fullest. He also enjoyed cooking, particularly with fresh herbs, watching old classical movies, his tattoos, and his hair. His favorite R&B group was Dru Hill. Jermaine was a loyal and devoted Dallas Cowboys fan. His favorite color was orange. To know him was to love him. He was cherished by all his family and friends, especially his vacation buddies. Jermaine leaves to cherish his father: William Johnson Sr., his mother: Carolyn Johnson, sisters: Christina Belony (Pastor Max), Stephanie Turner (Billy Sr.), brothers: Damien Bowser, William Johnson Jr., Stephen Johnson (Gabrielle), Robert Gross Jr. (Amanda), a God-sister: Rachel Wells, a longtime friend: Porsha Rivera and her son Zayden, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles, and many friends. Jermaine was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Leon Johnson and Catherine Johnson, and his maternal grandparents, Pastor Rufus Leroy Everett and Evangelist Percie Lee Everett. Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, May 18th, at Shiloh Baptist Church, 2411 Memorial Ave, Port Norris, NJ 08349. Friends will be received at the church from 9 AM to 11 AM prior to the services. Interment will take place at Haleyville Methodist Cemetery in Commercial Twp.
