Obituary of Geneva Griffin

Geneva Griffin known to many as, G-Baby, Aunt G, and to her only daughter as Mom, transcended from earth to glory on May 1st 2024 at Cooper University Hospital of Camden NJ. She entered this earth on December 27, 1960 in Bridgeton NJ, to Zettie L. Griffin and the late James Louis Griffin. Geneva was educated in the Bridgeton Public School system as well as the Hudson County School District (West New York). She graduated from Cumberland Regional High School in 1979. She later went on to attend Florida A&M University for 3 years before transferring to Rutgers University of Camden, NJ. She was previously employed by, the Division of Civil Rights Camden (10 years), Fairfield Township Municipal Clerk as a Certified Notary, Community Affairs DCA, a substitute teacher for Bridgeton and Fairfield public school system, and City of Bridgeton Vital Statistics. Geneva leaves to cherish her memory; her daughter, Jacquetta Griffin -Smith; her mother, Zettie Griffin; her sisters, Shari Gullatt, Jacquetta (Kenneth) Rawls, Colleen Satterfield, Gina Dawkins, Roxanne Randazzo; four aunts, Ola Scott, Viola Rozier, Barbara Jane Johnson, and Roberta Rozier; a host of nieces of nephews, cousins and friends; her God daughter Ryan Davis; her Godson Sincere Gilmore; her long standing friends, Yulinda Gilmore and Shelia Johnson; and a “whistling tea kettle” to make her favorite drink a light sweet cup of coffee. Geneva was predeceased by; her son, Joshuah Aaron Griffin- Smith; her father, James Louis Griffin; her grandmother, Leola Rozier; her sisters, Willa M ( Ludy) Donaldson, Elmarie (Snuffy) Maddox, Bettye ( Sister) Griffin- Staples, Kathleen Johnson, and Janice Price; her brothers, Herman (Butch) Griffin, and James Randazzo; nephews, Curtis Donaldson III, Raymond Allen; and uncles, Claude (Buddy) Rozier, and Leonard F. Owens. Funeral services will be held at the Greater St. Augustine AME Zion Church, 410 N. Pearl St, on Monday, May 13th at 11AM. Friends will be received at the church from 9 AM to 11 AM prior to the service. Interment will take place at Fordville Memorial Park in Fairfield Twp.
