Obituary of Guy N. Johnson

Guy N. Johnson “Paw Paw”, 72, of Bridgeton, passed away on Friday, April 26th at his home under the care of hospice and his family. Born in Bridgeton to the late Lewis Alan Johnson and Diane Tomeo Johnson, he had been the husband of Ann Shannon Johnson. He had been a resident of Cumberland County most of his life, living in Seabrook, Rosenhayn, and Bridgeton. He had also resided in Moosic, PA for ten years. Guy was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, and served his country during the Vietnam War where he became disabled during his service. He was a member of the Military Order of Devil Dogs (SJ Pound 96), Cumberland County Adopt a Road (K-9 War Dogs), and the Vietnam K-9 Dog Handler Association (Marine Sentry Dogs). He continued to serve others by volunteering his time with the clubs he was involved with and USMC Toys for Tots and for local AA programs. In his free time, he enjoyed taking his beloved Golden Retriever, Shadow, to the dog park daily. He also enjoyed watching his favorite television show, MASH nightly. He spent the majority of his time serving the community through his volunteer work. He is survived by; his wife, Ann Johnson of Bridgeton; his daughter, April Dawn Jones of Millville; his siblings; Gary Johnson, Alan Johnson, and Linda Johnson Criswell; his grandchildren; Justin, Jimi, Shannon, and Ambrosia; his great-grandchildren, Jadin, Jimi, Cassiel, Zelda, and Harper; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family. He was preceded in death by; his daughter, Tracy Love Johnson-Krall; his bonus daughter, Shannon Jones; and his brothers, Robert “Bobby” Johnson and Larry “Jake” Gentile. Graveside services will take place at Cumberland County Veterans Cemetery in Hopewell Twp., on Saturday, May 4th at 3PM.
