Obituary of Luz N. Martinez

Luz Neraida Martinez 71, of Fairfield Twp., passed away on Wednesday, April 17, 2024 at Inspira Medical Center in Vineland. She was born to the late Jose Rivera Munez and Gomezinda Vazquez in Utuado, Puerto Rico. Luz moved to Florida with her family as a child and had been a resident of Fairfield Twp. for the past 25 years. Her cooking was always made with love and her arroz y gandules con pernil o bistec is family favorite that they will forever remember her for. She took pride in keeping her house clean and loved to utilize her green thumb in her garden. Being the strong willed, superwoman of the family, she was always there to help anyone she could and had a heart of gold. Luz loved animals and she cherished raising and taking care of her goats, chickens, dogs and pet birds. She also enjoyed going on fishing and crabbing trips. She is survived by; her children, Angel Martinez of Florida, Javier Martinez of Fairfield Twp., Blanca Martinez of Millville, Marilyn Martinez of Bridgeton, and Perfecto Martinez of Florida; her bonus daughter, Jacqueline Martinez of Vineland; her bonus son, Raymond Banks; 18 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; her siblings, Maria Rivera (her twin), Enrique Rivera, and Helena Rivera; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family. She was preceded in death by; her parents, Jose and Gomezinda; her daughter, Yolanda Martinez; her grandson, Shaquile Banks; and her siblings, Lydia, Daniel, Ramon, Rosa, Manuel, and Ismael. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 24th at 11AM at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Twp. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 10AM to 11 AM prior to the service. Interment will take place at Fordville Memorial Park in Fairfield Twp.
