Jackie Lee Johnson, 85 of Bridgeton, passed away at his home on Thursday evening, March 28, 2024. Born in Pytona, West Virginia to the late Arnold Johnson and Verna Walker Johnson, he had been the husband of the late Shirley L. Six Johnson. He had been a Bridgeton resident since 1957, before then he had resided in West Virginia. Prior to his retirement he had been employed with Owens-Illinois Glass company in Bridgeton for 24 years and Durand Glass Co. in Millville for 16 years. In his free time he enjoyed fishing, bowling and spending time with his family. Jackie was an avid Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies fan, and he enjoyed Country and Bluegrass music. In his younger years he enjoyed playing in softball leagues with his brother, Charlie. He is survived by; his brother, Denver Johnson of Beckley, West Virginia; two sisters, Macil Wolbert of Rosenhayn and Jean Cobb of Cedarville; and many nieces, nephews and extended family. He was preceded in death by; his parents, Arnold and Verna Johnson; his wife, Shirley L. Johnson; his son, Michael Lee Johnson; two sisters, Eunice Alexander and Nora Woodis; and three brothers, Charles Johnson, Arnold Johnson and Boyd Johnson. According to Jackie's wishes, funeral services will be held privately. Jackie will be laid to rest with his family at Fernwood Memorial Park in Hopewell Twp.
