Obituary of Shaquile O'Neal Banks

On March 6, 2024, Shaquile O’Neal Banks, 29, of Fairfield Twp. passed away unexpectedly and was called home to be with the Lord. Shaquile was born in Ft. Myers, Florida to Yolanda Martinez and Christopher Banks, both of Ft. Myers, Florida. He moved to Seabrook, NJ at the age of 5 with his mother. Shaquile was also known as Boy Banks, The President, Banks, and Uncle Quile. He worked as a caregiver and a hairstylist who adored fashion. His true passion was being a hairstylist, with the desire to make everyone feel beautiful and confident. Being a hairstylist allowed him the opportunity to meet so many people and shed his light and talents with so many. Shaquile will be remembered for how caring and loving he was to everyone. His self-determination to be great and push everyone around him to do the same said a lot about him. His strength, selflessness, and outgoing personality is what made him who he was. He had great love for family and loved everyone unconditionally. Shaquile had the most beautiful smile, he lit up every room he entered. He was a truly amazing and beautiful person inside and out, and had an affect on everyone he encountered. He is loved by so many and will be endlessly missed by everyone whose life he touched. Shaquile leaves behind; his father, Christopher Banks Sr; his siblings, Christopher Banks Jr., Christina Banks, Ralanda Martinez, and Raymond Banks; his maternal grandmother, Luz Martinez; paternal grandmother, Norma Jean Banks; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends. Shaquile was preceded in death by; his mother, Yolanda Martinez who passed away in 2008. Funeral services will be held at Union Baptist Temple, 29 Martin Luther King Way Bridgeton, on Saturday, March 23rd at 11 AM. Friends will be received at the church from 9 AM to 11 AM prior to the services. Interment will take place at Fordville Memorial Park, in Fairfield Twp.
