Obituary of Luis Antonio Oliveras

Luis A. Oliveras, 77, of Elizabethtown, KY, passed away on Monday, February 26, 2024 at Baptist Health Hospital. He was born to the late Fidel Oliveras and Natividad Canales in Ponce, Puerto Rico. Luis had been a Bridgeton resident since 1984 until he moved to Kentucky three years ago. He served in the United States Army for four years during the Vietnam Conflict. He received a Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, and Vietnam Campaign Medal. Luis worked for the NJ State Parole Board District Office 10 for 25 years in Cumberland, Salem, and Atlantic County and retired in 2009. He loved going for rides on his Harley Davidson, singing and dancing. Luis also enjoyed going out to eat at diners. He was the owner of the Affordable Rentals in Bridgeton. Luis had a passion for helping people and he wanted to open a business to help families here to support their families in South America. Luis is survived by; his children, Tony Oliveras (Magali) of Kentucky, Maritza Oliveras of Vineland, Luis Daniel Oliveras of Puerto Rico, Joseph Anthony Oliveras of Florida, and Luis Antonio Oliveras of Florida; his adopted son, Nelson Colon of Florida; 15 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; his siblings, Fidel, Orlando, Diana, Abby, Daniel, and Benjamin. He was preceded in death by; his wife, Lourdes Oliveras; child Kristian Oliveras; brother, Roberto, and his parents. A memorial service will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 HWY 77, Upper Deerfield Twp. on Saturday, March 16, 2024 at 11AM. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 10:30AM to 11 AM prior to the service. Inurnment will take place at Laurel Lawn Cemetery following the service.
