Harriet Loatman Darrisaw was born on March 27, 1930 in Bridgeton, New Jersey to the late Linwood Loatman Jr. and Sarah Lloyd Loatman. Harriet was married to the late Jerry Darrisaw Jr. She peacefully departed this life on March 2, 2024. Harriet was surrounded by family and a host of relatives and dear friends. Harriet, was a lifelong resident of Cumberland County and attended Bridgeton Public School System. Harriet ’s past employment was at Job Corp, Scope (DSS) and Cumberland County Welfare Office, where she worked as a Social Worker for over 30 plus years, until her retirement. After retirement, she worked part -time at Cumberland Regionald High School as a cafeteria worker. During her earlier years, she was a Den Mother for the local boy scouts. Harriet joined Crusaders for Christ Evangelistic Center under the leadership of the late Thelma R. Malone, the late Bishop Ellis Davis and present Pastor Collymore Dawkins. Harriet and her best friend the late Clara Brown overseen the Food/ Feeding Ministry. Harriet was the second oldest “Mother of the Church” for Crusaders for Christ. Harriet had a smile that would light up the world. She leaves to cherish her memories, her two daughters: Jeri Darrisaw of Bridgeton, NJ and Myra Darrisaw Robinson (Leon Jr.) of Spring Lake, NC; son -in -law: Willie Hinson of Bridgeton NJ; her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren; one sister: Anna Stewart, Millville, NJ; three brothers: Edward Loatman (Ann), Deptford, NJ, Morris Loatman (Rita), Vineland, NJ and Leslie Loatman (Evelyn) St. John's, New Brunswick, Canada; Godson; Tyron Broughton and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband; Jerry Darrisaw Jr., her father: Linwood Loatman Jr.; mother: Sarah Lloyd Loatman; her two sons: Jimmy Loatman and Cecil Loatman; her daughter Pauline Hinson; her six brothers: Arthur Loatman, Linwood Loatman II, William (Billy) Loatman, Richard Loatman, Thomas Loatman Sr., Harold Loatman; her three sisters: Sarah Waters, Adeline Dixon and Lillian Mosley. Harriet will be sadly missed, but we will continue to celebrate her laughter, the joy she spread to her others. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2024, at 11AM at Crusaders for Christ Church, 33 Reeves Rd., Bridgeton, NJ. Friends will be received at the church form 9AM to 11AM prior to the service, interment will take place at Fernwood Memorial Park, 794 Shiloh Pike, Hopewell Twp. following the services. -Lovingly Submitted by the Family
