Obituary of Amos C. Buck
Please share a memory of Amos to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Amos was born into the union of Caleb and Teenie Buck on April 4, 1928 in Calvert County, Maryland. He came to New Jersey early in his life and worked in the seafood industries located in various areas in New Jersey including Cape May, Point Pleasant and Port Norris.
Amos married Alice Ernestine Hall on December 9, 1956 and until her passing in 2006, both of their names were spoken together as one by most people who knew them. Amos was a devoted husband and a loving, caring and protective father. He was satisfied at home and used to love working in his yard and pretending to fix things in the basement.
A quiet man who did not require much to be happy, he was content with good food, a warm house and a few dollars in his pocket. He was not a "church-goer" but believed and accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his daughter, Belinda Hall of Port Norris; his sister, Gladys Buck of Port Norris; a favorite nephew, George (Doris) Buck of Huntington, MD; a sister-in-law, Alberta Buck of Calvert County, MD and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by six brothers, Andrew, William, Walter, Leroy, Benny and Joseph Buck and a sister, Pearl Wheeler.
Funeral Services will be held at John Wesley United Methodist Church, Ogden Ave, Port Norris, on Friday March 15th at 1 PM. Interment will take place at Haleyville Methodist Cemetery in Commercial Township. A viewing will be held at the church from 12 Noon to 1 PM prior to the services. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the PADGETT FUENRAL HOME, Cedarville. Written condolences may be sent to the family through the funeral home website at www.padgettfuneralhomes.com.
