Obituary of Daniel W. DeVault

Please share a memory of Daniel to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Daniel Wayne DeVault (67), of Vineland, NJ, passed into eternity on February 26, 2024, and was instantly in the presence of his Lord & Savior Jesus Christ. He was born in Fairmont, WV on April 18, 1956. He was a lifelong member of Bridgeton Assembly of God/Transformation Church. Daniel was actively involved in his church. He was a youth group leader, taught Sunday School, worked in children’s ministry, baked cakes for the senior luncheons, and did puppet ministry. He married his best friend, Barbara Anne Wireback on June 16, 1978. Together they raised seven children, Kevin DeVault, Melissa Gelona, William DeVault, Diane DeVault, Jonathan DeVault, Samuel DeVault, and Jeni Kelley. His greatest joy was being Pop-pop to his 17 grandkids, even those who he was unable to see often. He was eternally optimistic that each year was the Dallas Cowboys’ year, and that the Yankees would build another dynasty. He loved playing his Gretsch guitar and always had a song in his heart. He was also very fond of trains, and he would talk about them and look at them every chance he got. Daniel enjoyed coaching soccer with his children and watching his grandkids play sports. Daniel is survived by his wife, Barbara, seven children, and seventeen grandkids. He is also survived by his two sisters, Karen Keen and Sandy Neal. He was predeceased by his three brothers, Gary, James, and David DeVault along with one great-grandchild, Alan Robert Birge. Though Daniel left this world too soon, he left a lasting legacy that will be felt for generations. His greatest legacy will be the example he gave us of what it is to love others as Christ loves us. The greatest example of this was in how he loved his wife. He left us a legacy that will be remembered and something great to aspire to be like.
