Beryl F. Whittington, age 93, of Port Norris died Thursday, March 7, 2013 under the care of Hospice at his home. A Port Norris resident since 1949, he was born in Crisfield, MD on October 31, 1919. He was the son of the late Lewis Whittington and Lottie Mae White Whittington and the husband of the late Evelyn Livingston Whittington. Before his retirement, Mr. Whittington had been employed with Gorton Seafood in Millville and the Reed and Reed Oyster Company in Port Norris. He was a member of John Wesley United Methodist Church in Port Norris. An active community member in the years past, he had coached girls softball in Port Norris and had been an avid baseball player in the Port Norris Oyster League. Surviving are four sons, James Cisrow (Therale) of Port Norris and Stanley Williams, Ronald Cisrow (Shyrelle) and Donald Cisrow (Karen) all of Millville; five daughters, Barbara Eckeard (Olen) of Millville, Sarah Cisrow (Steffon), Shirlene Smith (Thomas) and Marida Tindell (Ozie) all of Port Norris and Theola Rodriguez (Salvadore) of MD; a sister, Beatrice Heggs of Philadelphia, 61 grandchildren, 80 great-grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by four sons, Beryl, Jr., Nathaniel, Philip and Leroy, a brother, Arthur Whittington and a sister, Alverta Whittington. Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 14th at 1 PM at Shiloh Baptist Church, Memorial Ave., Port Norris. Friends will be received at the church from 12 to 1 PM prior to the services. Burial will take place at Haleyville Methodist Cemetery, Commercial Township. Arrangements are under the direction of the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, Cedarville.
