Everett Brogen, 82, of Rosenhayn, NJ passed away on November 12, 2023, at Inspira Healthcare - Elmer., while a patient in the ICU. He passed peacefully while watching the Sunday morning mass from St. Brendan the Navigator Church Avalon, NJ led by Father William Kelly, with his wife by his side. Born on March 30, 1941, in Manassas, Virginia to the late Clarence and Nellie (Smith) Brogen. He married Marycatherine Visconti, on November 7, 1970, and made Rosenhayn, NJ his home until his passing. They recently celebrated 53 years of marriage and were able to renew their vows under the direction of Deacon Chris Nichols on their anniversary. Everett spent most of his working years as a manager for M. Levin & Co. located in Rosenhayn, NJ, retiring in 1997 after twenty-six years of service. Prior to working in management, Everett was a self-taught painter and glass blower holding positions at Wheaton Industries, Kimble Glass Company, and Clevenger Brothers Glass Works. He found great joy spending time with his family, fishing with his sons, and sharing in his grandson's activities and sporting events. He also enjoyed time spent at home entertaining family and friends and would always welcome a good game of pinochle. Everett was an active member of the Parish of the Holy Cross, St. Mary's R.C. Church in Rosenhayn, NJ where he served faithfully as head usher for the Saturday evening mass and volunteered when needed. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Marycatherine (nee Visconti) of Rosenhayn, NJ, and his two sons, Everett, and his wife Shannon (nee Mongo) of Pittsgrove, NJ, and Michael and his wife Dena (nee Nicosia) of Upper Deerfield Township, NJ, as well as his four grandsons, Everett "EJ", Leonard "Lenny", Trevor, and Peter "Petey" Brogen. In addition, his sister-in-law, Alberta "Bobbi" Visconti, his nephew, Peter J. Visconti, and his daughter Elena, all of Rosenhayn, NJ. Aside from his parents, he was preceded in death by Peter and Catharine Visconti, his brother-in-law, Peter Visconti, his siblings, Mayme Thurman, Jerry Brogen, and Larry Brogen. Services were held privately at Parish of the Holy Cross, St. Mary's R.C. Church Rosenhayn, NJ on Friday, November 17, 2023, under direction of Father Matthew Weber and Deacon Chris Nichols.
