Obituary of George B. DeBellis

George B. DeBellis, 79, of Upper Deerfield Twp., passed away on Sunday, December 3, 2023 at Cooper University Hospital in Camden. Born in Bridgeton to the late Basil DeBellis and Anna Karisko DeBellis, he was the husband of the late Mary Anna Colaneri DeBellis. Moving to Woodbury in 1950, he had resided there for 25 years. He then relocated to Pennsville for 30 years, and has been an Upper Deerfield Twp. resident for the last 16 years. He retired after over 30 years as a first class operator for the E.I. DuPont Chambers Works in Deepwater. He was a member of the 5th Ward Athletic Club, and the Italian American Political Club both in Bridgeton. He was a former member of the Bridgeton Order of the Elks and the Parish of the Holy Cross, Immaculate Conception Church, in Bridgeton. In his free time he enjoyed hunting, fishing, word search puzzles, metal detecting, and collecting firearms. He is survived by; his children, Dawn Filippone (Craig) of DE, Gregory DeBellis (Michelle) of Millville; his sisters, Gerri Barbera (Phil) of Shiloh and Dana DeBellis of Hopewell Twp.; and three grandchildren, Payton Filippone, Austin Filippone, and Ally Sullivan. He was preceded in death by; his parents, Basil and Anna DeBellis; and his wife, Mary Anna DeBellis. Funeral Services will be held at 11AM on Thursday, December 14th, at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Twp. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 10AM to 11AM prior to the service. Internment will take place privately at St. Mary's Cemetery in Bridgeton.
