Obituary of Gary T. Walker

Gary T. Walker, 68, of Wilmington, DE formerly of Bridgeton passed away on Saturday, November 25, 2023 at the the Willmington VA Hospital. Born in Bridgeton to the late Clarence Thomas Walker and Floriemel Rice Walker, he was a lifetime resident of Bridgeton until moving to the VA Community in Wilmington, DE in 2018. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving during peacetime at Fort Bragg, NC as a Food Service Specialist. He had also worked for the Merchant Marines and in the Casino industry in Atlantic City as part of the sanitation department. He had attended Union Baptist Temple in Bridgeton. In his free time, Gary enjoyed shopping in Philadelphia, spending time visiting his out of town relatives, visiting Wildwood and Philly with Jerome Wilson, going out to nice restaurants with his sister, Sharon and visiting Ocean City every year. He was also an avid fan of the Philadelphia Eagles. He is survived by; his beloved twin sister, Sharon Walker Brown (Naval Nelson) of Millville; his brother, Harvey James Allen; his friend, Jerome Wilson and many nieces, nephews and extended family. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by; his sister Barbara McIntire. Funeral services will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Twp. on Monday, December 11th at 11 AM. Interment will take place at Cumberland County Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Hopewell Twp. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 9 AM to 11 AM prior to the services.
