Obituary of Daisy Gurdine Jones

Daisy Gurdine Jones, 81, of Bridgeton passed away on Saturday, November 18, 2023 at Cedar Grove Respitatory and Nursing Center Monroe Twp. Born in Danville, VA to Laura Henderson, she had been a resident of Bridgeton for the past 3 years and prior to that she had resided in Port Norris and Gouldtown. Prior to her retirement, she had worked as a Nurses Aide at the Cumberland Manor in Hopewell Twp. for over 30 years. She had also been employed at Seabrook Farms as a produce inspector. Daisy was baptized at Gouldtown AME Church but had attended several local churches. In her free time, she loved to crochet, spend time with her cats, and watch the Los Angeles Dodgers and Notre Dame Football Team. She is survived by; her sisters, Lauretta McGhee (Gregory) and Youtha Fletcher (Vaughan), her brother, Elton James Jones, Jr. (Cindy) and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family members. She was preceded in death by; her son, Brian L. Jones,; her mother, Laura Henderson Jones Blackwell; her step-father, Elton James Jones, Sr.; six brothers, Louis Henderson, Ronald Jones, David Jones, Joseph Jones, Garfield Jones and Delbert Jones and her sister, Mertice Jones. Funeral services will be held on at Faith Outreach Deliverance Church, 100 South Pine Street, Bridgeton Tuesday, November 28th at 11 AM. Interment will take place at Fordville Memorial Park in Fairfield Twp. Friends will be received at the church from 9 AM to 11 AM prior to the services.
