Obituary of Masako Rose Dodohara

Masako (Rose) Dodohara, age 91, passed away on Monday, November 13, 2023. She had been an Upper Deerfield Township resident most of her life. Rose was born in Ascope, Peru, S.A. and during WWII her family was brought to the United States to be interned in Crystal City, TX. They stayed in Crystal City months after the war ended until her parents were given jobs and housing by Seabrook Farms. For many years she worked for Dr. Bruce Woodley in Woodstown until her retirement. In addition to Dr. Woodley’s many patients, Rose cared for over the years, at the same time Rose also cared for her parents, the elderly in her community and her friends and family. She had also worked for a period of time for the Prudential Insurance Company regional office in Millville. Rose was preceded in death by her father Jitsuo Dodohara, mother Takeno Hayashi Dodohara, brothers Takashi, Tamotsu, and Hiroshi and nephew James. She is survived by nieces Eve Dodohara, Cathleen (Donald) Cooper, and James’ widow Jennifer Dodohara as well as a great niece and great nephews. Memorial services will be held at the Seabrook Buddhist Temple 9 Northville Rd. Upper Deerfield Twp. on Saturday, January 20, 2024 at 11 AM. Inurnment will take place at Laurel Lawn Cemetery in Upper Deerfield Township following the services.
