Pastor Altheria R. Chappell, 57, of Bridgeton died Friday, February 22, 2013 at South Jersey Regional Medical Center. The daughter of the late Alton Hill and Bernice London Hill she was born in Bridgeton on November 17, 1955 and was a Bridgeton resident most of her life. She was the wife of Rev. D. Raymond Chappell. Pastor Chappell was a self employed beautician and cosmetologist and also was a school bus aide with the Bridgeton Board of Education. She was co-pastor of El-Bethel Ministries in Bridgeton. In addition to her husband, she is survived by five daughters, Rowena Still of Philadelphia, PA, Lisa Ford (Patrick) of Bridgeton, Shanta Still of Bridgeton, Quadera Chappell of Newark and Stephanie Simmons of Bridgeton; two sons, Anthony Hill of Bridgeton and Ramon Chappell of Pine Brook; three brothers, Eddie Eugene Hill and Alton Hill, Jr. of Erie, PA and Rock Hill of Bridgeton; a sister, LySharon Bowser (Howard) of Millville and 12 grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at the Faith Outreach Deliverance Church, 100 South Pine Street, Bridgeton on Friday, March 1st at 11 AM. Friends will be received at the church from 9 to 11 AM prior to the services. Burial will take place at Cumberland County Veterans Cemetery in Hopewell Twp.
