Morris Holloway, 82 of Bridgeton, was called home to be with the Lord on October 4, 2023, surrounded by his family & friends. Morris was born at home on August 29, 1941, in Tarry, AR to the late Theodore & Bird Ester Holloway. He was one of 12 children born of this union. Morris was a loving husband, father & grandfather. Morris loved spending time with his wife of 36 years, as well as his children & grandchildren. Morris was a member of St. Phillips Missionary Baptist Church in Bridgeton, NJ. He loved fishing, sitting outside, and having conversations with everyone he came across. He loved his snacks and when he was able, he loved to cook. Crabs were one of his favorite things to cook and eat. Morris also had a favorite saying, “Pimpin ain’t easy”. Morris had worked at the Cumberland County Juvenile Detention Center for 25 years, where he held various positions and the children respected his authority. He also had worked for several years for the Bridgeton Police Department. Morris is survived by; his wife, Blanche Holloway of Bridgeton, NJ.; four sons, Jaymes Davidson (Stacey) of Newport News, VA, Todd Davidson of Hopewell, NJ, Donovan Holloway of Bridgeton, NJ & Michael Holloway (Melody) of Las Vegas, NV.; five daughters, Claudia Smith-Heard of Atlanta, GA, D’Andrea Holloway (Kenny) of Bridgeton, NJ, Dorothy Wallace (Shawn) of New Castle, DE, Ola Mae Perry (Darnell), Gwinney Holloway of Las Vegas, NV.; 11 brothers and sistes, Margret Paris (Cecil), Hythaniel Holloway (Lula), Cardell Holloway, Bertha Holloway, Allen Holloway (Rosemary), Joe Holloway (Barbara), Larry Holloway (Angela), Norma Jean Henry, and Flossie Moore; and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Morris was predeceased in death by; his loving daughter Dr. Evangeline Holloway-Rozier; son Kyham Holloway; and two brothers Theodore & Charlie Holloway. Funeral services will be held at the St. Phillips Missionary Baptist Church, 275 Richardson Ave. Bridgeton, on Saturday, October 14, 2023 at 11AM. Friends will be received at the church on Friday, October 13, 2023 from 6PM to 8PM and Saturday, October 14, 2023 from 10AM to 11AM. Interment will take place at Fernwood Memorial Park, 794 Shiloh Pike, Bridgeton, following the service.
