I will never forget his laugh or the screech when he saw the merry-go-round when we would arrive at O.C. He took control of the wheel-chair and knew exactly where he was going and everyone had better get out his way. Robbie you will always be my bunky-boy! There are no words I can express on how deeply I love you and miss you!!

One of my favorite memories of Robbie was when he, Aunt Sandy, and Alice visited us in Ft. Eustis, VA in the late 1980’s. He was a real trooper. I remember him enjoying the army transportation museum that was on post - especially the big vehicles that were outside. We also enjoyed riding through Jamestown and Yorktown with him.

THE PATH
Do you want to go down this path with me? For it is one less traveled, dark and narrow.
The experts say I’m not supposed to be here very long so it’s okay if you don’t want to come.
Some are sure to laugh, point and stare so I understand if we part ways here.
I can’t move too good or communicate that well so if you decide to stay behind that’s cool.
I’m going to fall and get hurt more times than you can count so if you want to turn back you can.
I have unconditional love to give and many laughs along the way if this isn’t enough I totally understand.
Hey look! It’s my birthday again and you’re still here with me?!
It’s been a long road for sure.
I would have never made it down this path without you!
Now please remain here…………….
Until we meet again Rob.
Dedicated to the family and friends of Robert Panzino.

Robbie loved going for car rides it didn’t matter where just as long as the car was moving. I wanted to use aunt Alice’s brand new car but to do so meant that Robbie had to come along. We traveled down the road hoping to see a train on the way to my boyfriend’s house who is now my husband. Although mostly rural scenery Robbie didn’t care as long as he was going bye-bye’s. We arrived and parked the car in the front of the house. I got to the front door, Robbie was in the backseat. I stepped inside the door for a brief moment then Ed and I turned and walked outside noticing Robbie was no longer in the car. Frightened, we looked all around then Ed and I heard someone say, “Hello, how are you?” Through a screen door Ed saw Robbie’s silhouette. Robbie was standing inside a neighbor’s living room. We quickly ran over and apologized as we escorted Robbie back to the car. No one was the wiser. I continued to take Robbie for long rides knowing that I could never take my eyes off of him again. Robbie, we took our last bye-bye’s together yesterday, I think I heard you giggle a bit while we drove down the hill. I miss you dearly little brother and I love you to the moon and back! Love your sister Melanee

I remember one time while I was waiting to have lab work done, I heard someone mention the name Robert Panzino. I thought to myself, that is my cousin’s name. When I looked to see if it was Robbie he saw me he was immediately happy to see me. I offered to hold Robbie’s hand (letting them who I was) I think we were both relieved because it was easy for the tech to complete the procedure. We cheered and clapped, Robbie did too. A moment you will cherish forever! He gave me the biggest hugs and wet kisses before he had to go. I miss those kisses already! Rest easy Robbie - Guardian Angel Love you always, Love your cousin Bernadette

It was always funny talking with Robbie. You have a conversation with him and he just looked at you and laugh. One of the happiest days I had was when I was hanging out at the home and I see Robbie and a staff come walking up the hallway without his wheelchair after his knee surgery. We all started chanting "Go Robbie!" I called Mrs. Sandra right away and she was so happy. You will be missed buddy.

Robbie will always have a special place in my heart. I worked with Robbie for a few years and really got to know him and how he loved vanilla milkshakes, trains, car rides, and good ol’ one on one T.L.C. I will never forget one particular day that I worked with Robbie and I got him up, showered, fed and comfortable. After that we watched “ titanic” I also remember how he loved to watch “ Charlie and the chocolate factory “ Robbie and I would go on van rides everywhere. The outlets, the park , pet store.. I would hit a bump on purpose just to make him feel like he was on a ride at the amusement park. I love you Robbie, you’re our angel now.

I can remember his huge smile! I couldn’t help but to smile back. When I did, Robbie would reach out for what I thought would be a handshake or high five but instead became a great “man” hug. I’ll miss the hugs but I’ll mostly miss his contagious smile. Cousin Ronn

When we think of Robbie, not only do we remember his love of trains and carousels, but also his love for banana splits! Sandy prepared the works for Robbie - she had ice cream, bananas, chocolate sauce, and LOTS and LOTS of whipped cream! Robbie treasured the simple things in life, and that's what he taught us the most. He will be missed!

Every Sunday, as a younger teen, my cousins and I would somehow stuff ourselves in the back of our grandmothers PT Cruiser with Robbie. The destination was Ocean City, NJ. On our way, Robbie would chug Sprite and enjoy our billionth encore of the “Happy Birthday” song that he loved so much—all while most likely having a toy train chugging along as background noise.
Upon arriving to Ocean City, we’d always park right behind the High School and head to Gillian’s Wonderland Pier—where his noble steed awaited. Robbie would enjoy a quick transfer from back seat to wheel chair seat, be led up the ramp and welcomed by poles with rotating tops that spelled out WONDERLAND. Pretty cool, but Robbie didn’t care about that, that’s not what he went there for. We’d go inside the castle like structure of the pier to be welcomed by tons of different rides to enjoy, but at this point, Robbie was only giving them a quick glance before focusing on his real objective. He knew exactly where he wanted to go and he wasn’t settling for less. Off to the left, would be the merry go round, which was his real prize. The closer we got the less everything mattered. He’d watch the carousel go around and around, while waiting in line. Finally it was his turn to get on and he’d jump out of his wheel chair, power walk to the platform, usually pulling one or two of us with him. Up onto the horse of his choice, which would probably receive a kiss as a greeting from him, and patiently wait for the ride to start. Soon the Calliope music would play and the carousel would begin. Not long after, Robbie would have everyone’s attention with a loud scream of joy and a hearty laugh.
Moments like that are how I’ll always remember him--enjoying what he loved most with the people who loved him most and not letting anything else matter.

Robbie wasn’t here very long but he left a lasting impression on everyone he met! My memories of him can be summed up in these words. “Big Bob” was an Escape Artist, a Slayer of Ceiling Fans, an Automotive and Locomotive Enthusiast, a Backseat Driver, a Truck Smasher, a Carousel Rider, Christmas Tree Puller, Endless Birthday Partier, Snazzy Dresser,
Pasta Connoisseur, Milk and Cookies Consumer, a Zero-Pain Feeler, and a Friend and Family Lover. He always kept us on our toes and his laugh was enough to let you know everything was alright. Rest easy Robbie, you taught us all so much. Love and miss you brother-in-law, Ed
