Sharon Kay Adams, née Ingersoll, passed away peacefully at the age of 77 on Wednesday, August 9, 2023, surrounded by her loved ones. Born on October 5, 1945, in Bridgeton, N.J. to Arthur and Jane Ingersoll, Sharon was the youngest of their three children. She is predeceased by her eldest brother William “Bill,” and leaves behind her brother Lawrence “Larry.” In November of 1960, Sharon married Harold N. Adams, Jr. known to his family and friends as “Junior,” and in July of 1961, they gave birth to their first child, Angel, followed soon thereafter by their son Christopher and youngest child Dawn. Sharon and Harold raised their three children in Cedarville, N.J. After Harold’s passing in 1988, in the early 90’s, Sharon began working as an administrative secretary. She went on to work for the Cumberland County Office on Aging and Disability Services and became the County’s Director of “Meals on Wheels” in October of 2013. Sharon spent the latter part of her life with her long-time fiancé, Michael J. Scarlato, with whom she enjoyed many years of friendship and camaraderie, especially at their family gatherings. She was a practicing member of the Catholic faith and a parishioner of St. Michael’s church in Cedarville. Sharon was a proud American and patriotically supported all who have served our nation's military, law enforcement, fire, and rescue. As a daughter, sister, aunt, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, co-worker, and dear friend, Sharon was adored by all who knew her. She was known for her kindness and caring nature. Sharon was predeceased by her mother and father Arthur and Jane Ingersoll, her brother William “Bill” Ingersoll and his wife Bonnie, her husband Harold “Junior” Adams, Jr., and her eldest daughter, Angel L. King, née Adams. Sharon is survived by her brother Lawrence “Larry” Ingersoll, and his wife Patricia, her fiancé Michael J. Scarlato, by her son Christopher S. Adams, Sr., and by her daughter Dawn M. Adams-Tisa and her husband John Tisa. Sharon had seven grandchildren: Samuel Lee Rosado, Jr. and Jessica Donoflio, the children of Dawn Adams-Tisa; Zachary Z. King and Seth C. King, the sons of her late daughter Angel L. King and her husband Daniel L. King; Christopher S. Adams, Jr., the son of Christopher S. Adams, Sr.; and her step granddaughters, Brooke Bitzer and Tayler Bitzer. Sharon had seven great-grandchildren: Samuel Lee Rosado, III, Devin Becker, Kaylee Rosado Olivia Rosado, and Paisley Rosado, the children of Samuel Lee Rosado, Jr.; Rocco Scalzo, the son of Jessica Donoflio; and Bayleigh Bertucci, the daughter of Brooke Bitzer. A visitation will be held at THE PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Twp. on Tuesday evening, August 15th from 6 PM to 8 PM. The funeral liturgy will be celebrated at the Parish of the Holy Cross-St. Michael's Church, 367 Main Street, Cedarville on Wednesday August 16th at 11 AM. Interment will take place at Cedar Hill cemetery in Lawrence Twp. following mass. Written condolences can be sent to the family through the funeral home website at www.padgettfuneralhomes.com.
