Obituary of Valerie Antionette Gibbons

Valerie Antionette Gibbons-Barney, 53, of Minotola, NJ, passed away on July 17, 2023 at her home. She was born on June 7, 1971 in Bridgeton, NJ to Sam Gibbons Sr. and Maddie Smith. Valerie graduated from Cumberland Regional high School class of 1988. Valerie had been employed at the casinos in Atlantic City, Kodak in Mechanicsburg, PA, and then at the nuclear plant at PSEG. She was known for creating a positive and fun work environment at every job she was employed at. Valerie enjoyed reading, music, looking at African art, and spending quality time with friends and family. Valerie is survived by her father, Sam Gibbons; her mother, Maddie Smith; and her brother, Sam Lee Gibbons Jr. She was preceded in death by her stepmother Doreen H Hart-Gibbons. A memorial service will be held at THE PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Twp., on Thursday, August 3, 2023 at 6 PM.
