Obituary of Joyce C. Davis

Joyce Clarice Tucker Davis, 89, of Bridgeton, was called home to be with The Lord on July 15, 2023 at Samaritan Center in Voorhees. She was born in Princess Anne, Maryland on March 3, 1934 to Ernest Tucker and Mahalie Lucas. She was born the sixth of nine children. Joyce lived most of her ife in Cumberland County. She was employed at various jobs over the years, but she most enjoyed working at commercial nurseries, where she developed her ability to cultivate any type of fruit or vegetable. That led to her yearly bountiful gardens and beautiful flowerbeds. She was happiest when rising with the sun to tend her precious plants. Joyce was also known as "Aunt Dot" and "Mom Dot'" to a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren and neighbors. They will miss her big smile, bigger laugh and stern, loving advice to "Do Better and Love One Another". She loved family gatherings, fishing, reading her Bible and listening to Gospel music. She leaves to carry her legacy: four children; Lydia Saez, Jessica Ann Tucker, Joseph Saez (Angela) of Cumberland County and Freddie Tucker (Vanessa) of Burlington County; and her most beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren. Joyce Clarice also leaves to cherish her memory, one precious brother, Ernest Tucker Jr., and one precious sister, Evelyn Harris. Joyce is preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Mahalie Tucker; her spouse, Richard Davis; her son, Nicomedes Saez; and six siblings, Elmo Tucker, Ruth Bryant, Christine Exum, Harold Lee Tucker, Laura Mae Stokes and Nellie B.
