Elmeda R Smith, 91, of Silver Springs, Florida passed away on Thursday June 15, 2023. She was the oldest of thirteen and born on January 21st 1932 to Lester and Eunice Raines (Cogdill). Elmeda was raised in Grassy Fork, Tennessee before moving to Pittsgrove, New Jersey with her late husband Joe and where she raised her four children. Elmeda eventually moved to Silver Springs, Florida where she ended up meeting her husband Paul. Paul and Elmeda enjoyed over 25 memorable years together up until her passing. Throughout her life Elmeda was a hard working entrepreneur with many successful businesses. Elmeda will always be remembered by her family as grandma okie dokie with the big red truck. Elmeda is survived by her husband Paul Olmstead of Silver Springs, FL; her daughter Donna Beckett of North Carolina; her daughter Linda Cottrell-Freda (Tim) of Pittsgrove, NJ; and her loving dog Woody. She is further survived by her three step children; seven grandchildren along with many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her late husband Joe G Smith, and her sons John Mark Smith, and Ronald Smith, as well as multiple siblings. A viewing for Elmeda will be held at the Padgett Funeral Home, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Twp. at 1:30 pm on Wednesday June 28th until 2pm. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm. Burial will follow at Centerton Freewill Baptist Cemetery in Pittsgrove Twp.. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
