Anthony Kenelia, 87, of Fairfield Township. passed away on Thursday, June 22, 2023 at his home under the care of hospice and his family. Born in Bridgeton to the late Michael J. Kenelia and Anna Martell Kenelia, he was the husband of Rose Marie Mucci Kenelia. Anthony had lived at the home he built in Fairfield Township since 1958 and before that he had been a resident of Bridgeton. Anthony was a veteran of the United States Navy and had served during the Korean Conflict. Prior to his retirement, he had worked at Owens-Illinois Glass Company in Bridgeton for 24 years and Durand Glass Company in Millville for 17 years. He was a member of the American Legion Nabb-Leslie Post 82 in Millville. In his free time, Anthony was an avid antique car enthusiast and enjoyed fishing. In addition to his wife Rose, he is survived by his daughter, Gina Marie Smith of Mays Landing; his two sons, Michael A. Kenelia (Michele) of Upper Deerfield Township and Anthony J. Kenelia (Naomi) of Deerfield Township.; his brother, Richard Kenelia of Upper Deerfield Township and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Michael J. Kenelia, Jr., Joseph “Chubby” Kenelia, Donald “Dutsel” Kenelia and Raymond Kenelia and a son in law, James Smith. A gathering of family and friends will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Township on Wednesday, June 28th from 10 AM to 12 Noon. Interment will take place at Cumberland County Veteran's Cemetery in Hopewell Township following the gathering at the funeral home.
