Obituary of Theresa M. Bowen

Theresa M. Bowen, 94, of Newport passed away on Tuesday, June 20, 2023 at the home of her son and daughter in law under the care of hospice and her family. Born in Philadelphia, PA to the late George Lacotte and Elizabeth Rikert Lacotte, she was the wife of the late Tyrus R. Bowen, Sr. Theresa had resided at her current address in Newport since 2006 and prior to that she had lived in Cedarville and Bridgeton. As a homemaker, Theresa tirelessly cared for her family. She loved gardening, baking, doing housework and spending time organizing. She was a Godly woman from a religious background and was a member of Centergrove Methodist Church. Most of all she loved quality time spent with her family. The family would like to acknowledge the NJ HomeCare Hospice terrific staff; Kim, Nicky and Dee as well as a special friend Sarah Dobson for their dedicated care. She is survived by; her sons, Tyrus R. Bowen, Jr. (Bertica) of TX and Terry W. Bowen (Jane) of Newport; seven grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and nine great great grandchildren with two on the way. She was preceded in death by; her brothers, George Lacotte and Joseph Lacotte; her sister Elizabeth Griner; her granddaughter, Kayla Ayars and and her great great granddaughter, Keraline. Funeral services will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Twp. on Monday, June 26th at 11 AM. Interment will take place at Newport Baptist Cemetery in Downe Twp. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 10 AM to 11 AM prior to the services.
