Teddy E. Welden, 67, of Dividing Creek passed away on Tuesday, May 23, 2023 at his home.
Born in Sommers Point to the late Thomas A. Welden, Sr. and Dorothy Weldon, he was the husband of Dorothy Martin Welden. He was a proud lifelong resident of Dividing Creek.
Prior to his retirement, Teddy had served as a corrections officer at Southern State Correctional Facility in Maurice River Twp. for 17 years. Teddy had been previously employed at Durand Glass Co. in Millville for 13 years. He was a member of the Dividing Creek Baptist Church. Teddy was a lifetime member of the Dividing Creek Volunteer Fire Department and had served for over 50 years. He had also served as Fire Commissioner and Secretary of the Fireman's Relief Association. He looked forward to the Fireman's Convention every year. Teddy was an outdoor person who loved to hunt, fish and go bird watching. He also loved washing his truck, spending time with his best friend, his dog, Mickey and watching his grandsons play sports. Teddy was also a lifetime member of the NRA and a member of the Mauricetown Gun Club.
He is survived by; his wife, Dorothy Welden of Dividing Creek; two daughters, TeddiLyn Welden of Newfield and Felicity Perry (Fred) of Vineland; his son, Stephen Welden (Kelly) of Millville; his brothers, Thomas A. Welden, Jr. of Millville and Michael Welden of Millville; his grandchildren, Bria, Leah, Grayson and Axel and two nephews, Alan and Tom III. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas A. Welden, Sr and Dorothy “Dot” Welden and his sister, Lynda Welden.
Memorial services will be held at First Wesleyan Church, 200 Laurel Heights Drive, Bridgeton on Tuesday, May 30th at 12 Noon. Friends will be received at the church from 11 AM to 12 Noon prior to the services. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Dividing Creek Fire Company 529 Church Street, Dividing Creek, NJ 08315 or the Dividing Creek Baptist Church 929 Main Street Dividing Creek, NJ 08315 are welcomed.
