Obituary of Carmen A. Barlam

Born in Cedarville on December 29, 1921 to the late Carmen Barlam and Beatrice Venerado Barlam, he was the husband of the late Betty Kingerley Barlam. He had been a resident of the Bridgeton area since 1947 and prior to that had lived in Cedarville. Mr. Barlam served his country in the United States Army Air Force during WWII. He served in the 8th Air Force, 67th fighter wing and was stationed in Barnick, England in 1943. He was honorably discharged in October 1945. Prior to his retirement he was employed by Price Label Company in Bridgeton as a lithographer. He was a member of the Parish of the Holy Cross-Immaculate Conception Church where he served as an usher for 50 years and was an avid ballroom dancer. Surviving are his twin daughters, Donna Marshall (Nate) of Hopewell Township and Linda Petrunis (John "Joe") of Cherry Hill; a brother, Albert Barlam of Millville; a sister, Victoria Donato of Bridgeton; five grandchildren, Karen Doody (Patrick), Joseph Petrunis, David Petrunis (Amy), Damon Marshall and Greg Petrunis (Kris), seven great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Besides his loving wife Betty, he was preceded in death by seven brothers, Anthony, Dominick, Salvatore, Ernest, Daniel, Joseph and Louis Barlam and four sisters, Mary Raneri, Nellie Denuncio, Florence Barlam and Susan Peppitone. His Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at the Parish of the Holy Cross-Immaculate Conception Church, 312 N. Pearl Street, Bridgeton, on Monday, January 28th at 11 AM. Interment will take place at Cumberland County Veteran's Cemetery in Hopewell Township. Friends will be received at the church from 10 to 11 AM prior to the services. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, Upper Deerfield Township.
