Obituary of Doris M. Blizzard

Doris M. Blizzard, 88, of Newport passed away on Thursday, January 12, 2023 at her home. Born in Bridgeton to the late William Waddington and Adeline Steever Waddington, she was the wife of the late Roy Blizzard. Doris had been a resident of Newport most of her life. Prior to her retirement, Doris had worked as a teacher’s aide at Downe Twp. School for over 20 years and had also helped out on the family farm. She had been a member of the Newport United Methodist Church. In her free time, Doris enjoyed puzzles, paint by numbers and was an avid gardener who was known for her Begonias. Most of all she loved to spend time with her family especially her great grandchildren. She is survived by her children, Robin Jordan (Larry, Sr.) of Newport; Terry Eidemiller (John) of Lawrence Twp.; Cindy Lou Cummings (Paul) of Newport; and Roy Blizzard, Jr. of Newport; four grandchildren, Larry Jordan, Jr. (Belinda) of Cedarville; Sabrina Arroyo of Bridgeton, Santos “Justin” Arroyo IV (Tabitha) of Elkton, KY and Timothy Arroyo (Suzy) of Pittsgrove Twp.; three siblings, Virginia Shull of Cedarville, Sharon Knipe of Newport and Nancy Campbell of Dividing Creek and 13 great-grandchildren. Besides her husband, Roy, Sr., she was preceded in death by her sister, Carol Swift. Funeral Services will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Twp. on Wednesday, January 18th at 11 AM. Interment will take place at Greenwood Memorial Park in Millville. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 10 AM to 11 AM prior to the services.
