Obituary of Eddie Gene Burden

Eddie Gene Burden was born in Bridgeton, NJ to the late Octativa Harmon and the late Eugene Chance. He was raised in Hopewell, NJ along with his siblings Rosetta Burden-Jones, Jerome Burden, Heidi Burden and Marzett Burden-Tellis. Eddie was educated at Hopewell Crest Elementary School, Hopewell Township Middle School and Bridgeton High School. He later joined and retired from the United States Army. Eddie found the love of Christ early in life. He was baptized at the 1st Baptist Church of Deerfield in Deerfield, NJ. Later in life he became a Christian minister. He joined Elohim Temple of Love in Bridgeton, NJ and then Mt. Hill Missionary Baptist Church of Bridgeton, NJ until he was called home. Eddie was a loving and devoted husband to his wife and soulmate Rita Edward-Burden. He was a loving and caring father to his children and grandchildren and blessing to all those who knew him. Eddie was predeceased by his son Eric Burden but leaves to carry on his memory, his siblings Rosetta Burden-Jones, Jerome Burden, Heidi Burden and Marzett Burden-Tellis. His children Eddie Demetrius (Sharia) Burden and Lawrence (Sharhonda) Burden. Step-Children Lakisha (Micheal "Mike") Johnson, Stanley Jones, Yarneal Knox, Mark Shrivers, and Stanyell Jones. Brother-in-laws Larry (Caroline) Robinson, Lonny Robinson and Marion Jacobs, sister-in-laws Geroldine Morrell, Barbara Robinson and Gloria Davis as well as a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 6th at Mt. Hill Missionary Baptist Church, 486 Big Oak Road, Bridgeton NJ at 11am.
