Obituary of James W. Dawson

James W. “Buster” Dawson, 88, beloved father, husband and poppop, of Deerfield Twp. passed away on Monday, November 7, 2022 at his home surrounded by his family and under the care of hospice. Born in Bybee, TN to the late Fred Dawson and Angeline Freshour Dawson, he was the husband of Dorothy Ann Walker Dawson. Prior to his retirement, he had driven a combine for Seabrook Farms and had been employed there for over 20 years. Before that, he had been employed for 13 years at Jersey Package and for 19 years at Owens Illinois Glass Co. In his free time, James enjoyed watching TV especially game show such as; Lets Make a Deal, The Price is Right and Family Feud. Most of all, he loved to spend time with his grandkids. He is survived by; his wife of 68 years, Dorothy Ann Dawson of Deerfield Twp.; his children, Virginia Fallows, Mary Ann Michaud (Adrien), Mark Dawson (Linda), Curtis Dawson (Michelle), Cheryl Lewis (RJ) and Robert Dawson (Myong); six grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by; his daughter, Jo-Ella Nurk; granddaughter, Betty Lynn Lewis and sons in law, Thomas Fallows and Andy Nurk. Special thank you to all of his “sweethearts”, the nurses at Holy Redeemer who assisted us during this our time of need; Leah, Gail, Ariel, Chevon, Shannon (Case Worker), Patrick (Clergy Person) and special thanks to Denise Meleni who came into our lives to help us with James and became part of our family. Funeral services will be held at THE PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Twp. on Saturday, November 12th at 12 Noon. Interment will take place at Laurel Lawn Cemetery in Upper Deerfield Twp. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 10 AM to 12 Noon prior to the services.
