Margaret A. Cerato, 80, of Pittsgrove Township passed away on Friday, September 30, 2022 at Inspira Medical Center in Elmer. The wife of Charles “Butch” Cerato, she was born in Philadelphia, PA and was the daughter of the late Samuel Joseph McAlpin and Doris Stack McAlpin Waltz. She had lived in Pittsgrove Township for 42 years and prior to that had resided in Ridley Park, PA for 30 years. Before her retirement, Margaret had been self employed as a Certified Nurse’s Assistant doing private duty for ten years. Prior to her self employment she had worked at the Mater Dei Nursing Center for eight years. She enjoyed reading, traveling, Amish living books, the Casinos and spending time with her children. In addition to her husband, Charles, she is survived by her four daughters, Karen M. Weis of Salem, Cheryl A. Cerato of Smithville, Charlene L. Waddell of Wall Twp. and Kellie A. Gilliam of Pittsgrove; two siblings, Francis McAlpin of Ridley Park, PA and Doris Davison of Aston, PA, 7 grandchildren and 2 great-granddaughters. She was predeceased by a sister, Elizabeth Micka, a brother, Samuel J. McAlpin, Jr., her stepfather, Jack Waltz and two sisters in law, Marie McAlpin and Marsella McAlpin. Funeral services will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Township on Wednesday, October 5th at 11:00 AM. Friends will be received from 10:00 to 11:00 AM prior to the services at the funeral home. Interment will take place at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Cedarville.
